Event Details

Instructor: Warren J Wheeler, IAO

This 3-hour introductory course will assist attendees with using the HP-12c financial calculator.  This calculator is widely used by commercial appraisers.  Attendees will learn how to utilize some of the key functions and perform various calculations, including the time value of money (TVM).

Several real-life examples will assist attendees with both basic and advanced functions. The six functions of a dollar will be explained in detail.  The key to using the HP-12c is to recognize how the HP-12c is different from standard calculators, specifically Reverse Polish Notation (RPN), and how this method can streamline the calculations.

By the end of this course, attendees will have a much better understanding of the HP-12c.  Attendees should have their very own HP-12c to follow along with the instructor.

This course is an excellent companion course for those taking Course 2: Application of the Three Approaches to Value in November.

Continuing Education Hours / Re-Certification Credits
