Qualifications needed:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Possession of a valid New York State driver's license. Candidate must have abilities and characteristics as follows: Accurately measure, sketch and calculate area measurements, then transfer data as required; ability to read deeds, maps and building plans; some knowledge of building construction; ability to conduct oneself in a courteous and professional manner with property owners and the general public; physical condition commensurate to the demands of the position.

Certification needed: No certification required.

Brief job description: Work involves conducting field inspections of real property to gather information necessary for property appraisal. Typical work activities consist of physical measurement of buildings, taking photographs of grounds and structures, recording of information on worksheets and computer tablet, and sketching with computer software.
