Assessor, Towns of Clarkson and Sweden

The Towns of Clarkson and Sweden are seeking a qualified individual to serve as Full-time Town Assessor in a shared-services arrangement. Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually, plus benefits. Responsibilities include: Valuation and assessment of real property in accordance with NYS Real Property Tax Law, Preparation and maintenance of annual assessment rolls, Administration of exemptions, Attendance at Board of Assessment Review hearings, Supervision of assessment staff and related duties. Qualifications: NYS Assessor certification required (or ability to obtain), NYS IAO Membership, Knowledge of real property appraisal and assessment practices, Strong organizational, communication, and public service skills, Municipal assessment experience preferred. This is a non-competitive civil service position.
